YL Winter Conference February 2025

Winter Conference 2025

As you may have seen, we had to make the difficult decision to take Winter Conference online, and so won't be heading to Cardiff in a couple of weeks. Instead, we have made conference attendance completely free (!) and you can get your ticket below.

What will happen at Conference? Fortunately, our Policy Officer Ulysse has put together a Policy Mega Doc with all you need to know!

Young Liberals Conferences are your opportunity to make policy for YL. The very same policy that goes on to become Liberal Democrat policy (see our Sunday Trading Motion from Autumn 2024).

You can find linked below the motions, constitutional amendments and motions submitted by members and selected by the Policy Committee, which will be debated and voted on at Conference. As you await further emails on the conference, please feel free to look over the motions and amendments.

At Conference, Chairs and Aides of policy motion sessions will help you understand the process, but in the meantime, you can find a number of briefing papers and policy guides on elements of conference including:

  • Motions and amendments
  • Speeches
  • Types of motions
  • The role of a chair and aide
  • Debate structures
  • and more!
