What is a conference?
Conferences are usually the highlights of the YL calendar!
Party political conferences are debating, policy-making and social events - for the Lib Dems and Young Liberals, it's how we make policy. We run training and social events alongside policy debates.
If you've never come to a party conference before, why not check out our Conference 101 guide below?
Dates and Times
Conference will open on the afternoon of Friday 16th August 2024 and will close late afternoon on Sunday 18th August 2024.
See the timetable for more information on times, including the start and end of each day.
Reports
To each Conference, there is required to be an Executive Scrutiny session, in which each Executive Member must submit a report.
Policy Deadlines
Policies and constitutional amendments are a key part of our Conferences. They give you the chance to put your ideas forward for debate and discussion, and shape our future policy positions.

Venue and Accommodation
The main venue for Summer Conference will be the Bridewell Theatre, Blackfriars. It is conveniently located for Blackfriars underground station, City thameslink, and bus routes.
Conference accommodation will be provided at Great Dover Street Apartments, King's College London. This is around 25-30 minutes by foot from the venue, or a short walk from the nearest bus stop and Borough Underground Station.
See travel options between the venue and accommodation here. YL will cover the cost of a taxi journey between the venue and the accommodation for anyone with access needs, please email events@youngliberals.uk for details.
The Emily Price Award
Emily Price was a warm, supportive, funny Young Liberals activist, and a friend to many Young Liberals members, who sadly lost her life midway through the 2017 General Election.
In memory of Emily and the incredible work she did for the Young Liberals and the Liberal Democrats, each year we award the Emily Price Award to a Young Liberals member who has gone above and beyond for our organisation.
If you would like to nominate someone for the Emily Price award, please complete this nomination form by midday on Friday 9th August.
